Kingdom Living Temple
About Us
Kingdom Living Temple (KLT) is a Christian church that is engaged in ecumentical and interfaith work. At KLT, our core belief is that we should be outreaching and not in-dwelling, so we seek to minister and assist people in the community and empower thm spiritually, mentally, physically, socially, and globally. As a result, KLT is involved in a host of issu areas that range from the environment, equity, social justice, families, and community improvement.

Our Work
Kingdom Living Temple has been supporting the writing of the South Carolina State Energy Plan. The coalition writing the plan consists of every investor owned utility, Electric Cooperative, the SC Dept. of Health & Environmental Control, the Office of Energy, the Office of Regulatory Services, Academic Institutions, conservation groups, and Environmental Justice organizations.
KLT is a member of the coalition’s Environmental Justice sub-committee. It is also currently working on fighting a biomass pelletizing plant in Hamlett, NC. KLT is also organizing around water quality issues in low income African American communities in the counties of Florence, Chesterfield, and Marion. Those water quality issues are related to eather-rlated flooding.
We also work with a host of intrefaith and ecumentical organizations such as Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University, Green Faith, Interfaith Power and Light, Greening the Church, Creation Care Ministries, and Agricultural Missions Incorparated. KLT has also attended and presented at many colleges and universities such as Georgetown University, Duke University, Coker College, Francis Marion University, Florence-Darlington Technical College, Claflin University, and many more. We hav attnded briefings and testified at White House briefings, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, state and fderal agency events, and Congressional South Carolina State Senate briefings.
Our
Mission
Just as it takes three R’s to have a good education, it takes thre R’s to build good communities. Renew our ties with God, restore our families, and rebuild our communities spiritually, mentally, and physically.
GET INVOLVED
The Temple invites students, volunteers, and other entities to join us as partners in the work that we do.
How We
Work
Kingdom Living Temple has a structure that consists of partners. Our partners come from the faith, community, community-based organizations, non-profits, and business. These partners support the work of Kingdom Living Temple in a variety of different ways because we know what impacts one impacts many. We try to work across intersectional lines as often as possible. KLT also works extremely closely with the Whitney M. Slater Foundation and the New Alpha Community Development Corporation.
